We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and passionate individual to lead our new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home as the Registered Manager, on a full-time permanent basis.
Home Overview: Horizon Care and Education are currently on an exciting and innovative journey alongside Wiltshire County Council to deliver a range of Children's homes for the most vulnerable children & young people in Wiltshire
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the design and development of a unique service.
Our new Children's Therapeutic Assessment Home will support children & young people aged between 8-18 providing short term placements until their needs are fully appraised and understood. The service will provide up to 2 children/young people at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the operation of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, relevant legislation and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Understand how to work with clinical teams
- Develop a safe and nurturing environment that promotes children’s wellbeing and development.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Local Authority to provide positive outcomes for children.
- Work closely with external agencies and the local community to establish strong collaborative working relationships
- To Lead a culture and ethos where the complex needs of the individual young people and the group are met.
- Manage and maintain the homes budget and rotas to ensure that resources are used effectively to meet the needs of the children.
- Ensure that everyone in your team is fully aware of their role, responsibility, and accountability, and that they are supported and valued in their roles.
- Provide strong leadership to your team with a focus on reflection, development and performance to deliver exceptional person-centred care to each child.
- Quality assure transition plans and to ensure that these are aspirational in terms of supporting the children to achieve.
- To ensure that the physical environment of the home always remains at a high standard.
- Hold team meetings to share information, practice development and share any arising issues with the management team for resolution.
Essential requirements:
- Must hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
- Must hold OR be willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
- At least 3 years' experience working with children (within the last 5 years) and at least 1 year at Senior level supervision or management experience working with children/young people in a residential setting.
- Sound knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes with the ability to support the service to achieve a rating of outstanding.
- Sound knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.
