Job Introduction

QUALITY AUDITOR

Salary £40,000, plus travel expenses

Remote - regular national travel required, with overnight stays

Covering portfolio of residential children's homes, supported living accommodation and independent schools

The postholder will be responsible for continuously developing and carrying out systematic audits of services against the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Independent School Standards

To deliver independent assurance on service-level compliance with statutory regulations and internal quality frameworks, identifying risks, areas of non-compliance, and opportunities for improvement

Initially, the primary focus of this role will be Horizon’s residential children’s homes and supported accommodation services.  This will require a minimum of two audits to be completed each week on a rolling schedule, to ensure that each service receives a quarterly visit

 This is a remote role, requiring regular travel to conduct audits within services located across the UK


  • Strong knowledge of The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
  • Experience of auditing, inspection, or quality assessment in children’s social care
  • Ability to analyse evidence and make sound judgments on compliance and risk
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to present findings clearly and constructively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with staff, children, and young people
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deliver audits within agreed timescales
  • Ability to maintain independence, integrity, and professional objectivity
  • Driving licence, access to a car, and flexibility to regularly travel nationally and stay away overnight for work purposes
